Director
Mr. Mshelia is a lawyer by training and Director of Clean Energy Consult, an independent consulting firm working on policy and legal issues on climate change, energy, and the environment. His areas of expertise are climate governance, climate finance, and NDC implementation. He also has a Masters's Degree in Environmental Resource Management.
At various times, he has served as a consultant to local and international organizations including the OECD, UNDP-Nigeria, the Energy Commission of Nigeria, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Department of Climate Change, the Federal Ministry of Environment Nigeria, the Department of Climate Management, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate, Zimbabwe, the Ford Foundation, UK-NAIF, Natural Justice, South South North (SA), World Bank funded NEWMAP Project and currently coordinating the implementation of the Nigerian NDC as Country Facilitator for the NDC Partnership.
He had variously held federal government appointments including the Chairman of Governing Council of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA); Council Member of the Presidential Council on Afforestation for the Great Green Wall Program and Member of the Legal Committee for the National Council on Privatization (NCP). He also served as a member of the National Steering Committee, GEF-Small Grant Programme in Nigeria between 2016-2022.
